NOTICE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING FOR THE YEAR 2026
Founded in 2012 in Istanbul, our association aims to meet the needs of people in need both domestically and internationally, providing material and spiritual support in areas such as food, clothing, healthcare, education, fuel, cleaning supplies, rent, shelter, marriage, starting a family, entrepreneurship, housing, and more. We contribute to educational, health, social, and cultural services, research and promote national, spiritual, historical, and cultural values, support environmental and cultural heritage preservation, and foster solidarity and mutual aid to elevate the socio-economic level of communities.

Somuncu Baba Association brings hope to those in need through its humanitarian and social aid activities across different continents and regions. From education and healthcare to food and shelter, our mission is to strengthen social solidarity and serve humanity through dedicated volunteer efforts. Our goal is to spread goodness, promote a culture of compassion, and contribute to building a more livable world in every corner of the globe.
Somuncu Baba, whose real name is Sheikh Hamid-i Veli, was a prominent Turkish Sufi who lived in the 14th century. As one of the spiritual architects of Anatolia, he lived among the people and based his teachings on humility, patience, and generosity. Known as the mentor of Hacı Bayram-ı Veli, he became beloved among the people, especially through his practice of baking and distributing bread.
Darende, a distinguished district of Malatya, stands out with its historical and natural beauty. It captivates visitors with attractions such as Tohma Canyon, Kudret Pool, and historical madrasas. Darende is also home to the tomb of Somuncu Baba.
